The US Traitors is doing something new this year. Before the stars return to the castle, NBC is airing a season made up entirely of everyday Americans. Here’s how the two seasons fit together.
The Traitors: New Blood (Season 5)
- What it is: The first US season with no celebrities. Host Alan Cumming welcomes 22 “everyday Americans,” who NBC says were chosen from more than 60,000 applicants (TVLine).
- Premiere: A two-hour premiere on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 8/7c on NBC (TVLine).
- When new episodes air: After double bills on September 17 and 24, the show moved to one episode a week from October 8. Episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and stream on Peacock the next day (Dork; Peacock).
- Prize: Up to $250,000 (Time Out).
- Where it was filmed: Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, as in previous seasons (Wikipedia).
NBC has now published the full 12-episode schedule. Everything airs at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and streams on Peacock the next day (NBC Insider; TV Insider):
| Date (Thursday) | Episodes |

Why is the celebrity season “Season 6” and not “Season 5”?
When Peacock first revealed the next celebrity cast in September, some outlets, including Variety, called it Season 5. Peacock now counts New Blood as Season 5 and calls the celebrity edition Season 6 (Peacock). It’s the same cast either way.
The Traitors Season 6: release date
Peacock says Season 6 will premiere in early 2027, with Alan Cumming returning as host. An exact premiere date hadn’t been announced as of mid-October 2026 (Peacock; Time Out).
