Standards

Editorial policy & corrections

Last updated October 18, 2026

SpillPop exists to be useful to fans. That only works if you can trust what we publish. These are the standards every story is held to.

Sourcing

  • Attribution on everything. Relationship statuses, quotes, dates and casting news are attributed to where they came from — the network or streamer, a cast member’s own public statement or interview, or an established news outlet — and linked wherever possible.
  • No invented quotes, ever. If we quote someone, they said it on the record, and we link to where.
  • No anonymous-source gossip. We don’t publish “insiders say” claims about people’s private lives. If a reputable outlet reports something we consider newsworthy, we say clearly that it is reported, and by whom.
  • When in doubt, we leave it out. If we can’t verify a detail, it doesn’t go in.

Fairness

Reality-TV cast members are mostly private people who signed up for a TV show, not for a pile-on. We describe what happened on screen and what people have said publicly; we don’t speculate about health, sexuality, finances or legal matters, and we don’t publish content designed to harass anyone.

Dates, updates and “as of”

Every guide shows when it was published and, when revised, when it was last updated. Statuses on dating shows change fast, so our couples trackers note when a status was reported. We re-check our evergreen guides regularly.

Images

We don’t publish paparazzi or agency photography. Cover art on SpillPop is original, in-house typographic illustration. If we embed social posts in future, we will embed them from the original platform rather than copying images.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help with research, organisation and drafting. A human editor (SpillPop’s founder and editor, Jai Nischal Verma) is responsible for every story we publish, checks its facts against the linked sources and makes the final call. We never list AI as an author.

Independence

SpillPop is independent and is not affiliated with any network or show. Advertising and affiliate relationships never determine what we cover or what we say. See our affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

We fix mistakes quickly and openly. If a story contains a factual error, we correct it and add a note at the end of the article explaining what changed and when. Small fixes such as typos are made without a note. To request a correction, email hello@spillpop.com with the page link and the issue.
